Silly Bandz, the rubber bracelets that are all the rage among grade-schoolers back in March. Now they’re getting grown-up treatment at bars and clubs.

Adults on the prowl are using the colorful bands instead of bad pickup lines to make love connections says the New York Daily News. “I had no idea what they were,” said financial planner James Santos, 32, who lives in Tribeca.

I went on a date with a girl. She gave me one. Two days later, another girl gave me another Silly Band. I felt important.”

Santos said he now keeps his own stock of the bands, shaped like palm trees and surfers, wrapped around his right arm.

“People always notice them,” Santos said. “They are a great conversation starter.”

Women who dole out the bands say it’s an easy way to hit on a guy without being too aggressive.

Step 3.) Weights! Build Muscle Burn Fat!

On your Quest for a Healthier Lifestyle…We need to Lift Those weights! Everyone Both Men and Women must Lift Weights in order to Burn Fat……Men, I know some of you would like to show-off and Lift heavy and this is Perfectly fine as long as your form is in intact. Ladies there is a untrue fact out there, that if you lift weights you will become “BULKY” you will actually Burn Fat and Lose Weight, your Metabolism will increase and you will have greater Bone Density/Stronger Bones.

Start off with Light weights something you can handle doing at least 15-20 Repetitions and work your way to something substantial while doing arm-curls going from 8 lbs. and increase 10-15 lbs. Lifting weights can be done in the Gym or in your Home.

Things to keep in mind:

1.) Keep a slight bend in your knees (Do not Lock out your knees)

2.) Stand Tall (Do not Arch your back/slouch, or bend too far forward, rocking ect.,)

3.) Stance is important keep your toes pointing forward NOT off the the side’s (unless you are doing a Plie’ squat) make sure there is some distance between your stance/feet about 6-8 in. or so.

4.) BREATHING…You want to inhale on the relaxation phase and inhale on the exertion phase

*Example: Holding a weight in your hand doing arm curls with a slight bend in your arm/joints as you lift the weight up Exhale as you return the weight down Inhale.

5.) It is Important that no matter what body-part you are working on you KEEP a Slight bend in your Joints do not lock out your arms, legs no jerking movements NO slamming weights ect., Smooth and Controlled Movements will alleviate injury.

****If you find yourself doing the above ”Do Not’s” then you are tired or lifting too heavy! So WATCH your form!

***There is nothing wrong with women who may want to attain muscle mass although, if you would like bigger muscles then you will have to be on a program with a nutritionist/trainer (so do not worry about what some may call …..”bulkiness”)

Choose a weight training system that you enjoy and that fits into your lifestyle. Any type of resistance you choose, remember that proper technique is more important…Free Weights or Machines!
